Indoor Event 4

For all in-person events, we will be testing during class on Thursday and Friday. You may attempt both days and submit your best score.

Event 4: Max Handstand (walk or hold) + Max Hang from Bar

You will have 15 minutes to establish a score for both the handstand and the hang. You can make unlimited attempts at either movement within the 15 minute window.

For a handstand walk there is a minimum of 4 feet required. If you can’t walk four feet in the handstand, perform the handstand hold variation instead. Hands must start behind a mat line on the floor and end on the other side of that mat. Each mat crossed in the handstand walk counts as an additional 4 feet. Score stops accumulating as soon as the athlete drops out of the handstand.

For the handstand hold your score will be total seconds in the handstand. You will kick-up to the wall or other support and hold with arms locked out for as long as possible. No walk-ups allowed.

You may make several attempts to kick-up but once your time starts you cannot come back down and kick up without restarting your score.

The modification for this movement is to do a handstand hold with your feet on a box, bench, chair or other object. The object should be no shorter than knee height and no taller than hip height. You must be in a position where your hips are over your shoulders. Losing this position will end your time.

For the max hang, any grip style is allowed (overhand, underhand, mixed) as long as hands are in contact with the bar. Only the athletes bare hands can contact the bar. No grips, wraps, or gloves of any kind are allowed. If the athlete has chalk, that may be used. At least one hand must always be gripping the bar.

The rest of the athletes body cannot be in contact with anything (floor, rig, etc). If any contact is made, that attempt is over.

Scoring also ends once both hands leave the bar.

Virtual Event 4

For all virtual events, we will be testing at the beginning of each class on Thursday and Friday online. You may attempt both days and submit your best score.

Event 3: Max Handstand Hold

For the handstand hold you will kick-up to the wall or other support and hold with arms locked out for as long as possible. Your body must be close to the wall, no walk-ups allowed.

You may make several attempts to kick-up but once the time starts you cannot come back down and kick up.

The modification for this movement is to do a handstand hold with your feet on a box, bench, chair or other object. The object should be no shorter than knee height and no taller than hip height. You must be in a position where your hips are over your shoulders. Losing this position will end your time.

You have 5 minutes to complete your attempts and can take the longest hold attempt in seconds as your final score.
