This year we were able to make enough money on our Black Friday sale to sponsor 10 athletes of color for a full-year membership with us in 2019! We are so excited to do this again. Last year we gained some incredible athletes and we are so thrilled to add even more.
A couple of important changes to our process this year:
- All selected athletes will get a 1-month trial with us, to determine if we are a good fit for what they are looking for. If after 1-month they decide it’s not a good fit, they can leave with no hard feelings.
- If any spots become available after that 1-month period, people will be pulled from the waitlist.
- 10 spots and 5 waitlist spots will be selected.
- Last year it was unclear who the selection committee is so I want to make that clear; it is made up of a volunteer group of athletes and coaches of color that are currently active in the Solcana community. I (Hannah) do not make the final selections, but I do all of the communications.
Applications are open now. They will close Dec 21st and selections will be made on Dec 28th to allow for a Jan 1st start date. All of the selected winners will receive a 1-year membership with us at no cost, plus 50% off all workshops and seminars that we offer throughout the course of that year.
