Brianna Rocking those OH squats
Brianna Rocking those OH squats

So many congrats are in order. Ya’ll did incredible work on the fall challenge, and it was an honor to watch you all give everything you got to those lifts. The clean, overhead squat and bench press require precision technique, guts and insane mobility. You all dominated each and ever lift and just left me with my jaw on the floor. I am so over joyed with all of the progress I saw. We had 47 athletes complete the fall challenge, and dozens more who hit PR’s but hadn’t signed up for the challenge, so a HUGE CONGRATS to everyone who was part of it in any way.

Time to announce the winners!

Top 10 highest scores:
1. Sara R.
2. Nate A.
3. Tamra
4. Becky K.
5. Alex F.
6. Chris L.
7. Lara F-S.
8. Sasha
9. Amy H.
10. Lauren H.

Sara straight up dominated this challenge, sweeping the wilks scores. Wilks is based on total weight lifted compared to body weight. So that essentially means Sara was our pound-for-pound strongest athlete in the finals of the challenge. Congratulations Sara! You came a long way on that clean of yours and really turned up the heat on the overhead squat. We all knew you would put up a big bench number (almost 200#!!), but holy snap, you impressed us.

The top 10 most improved:
1. Lauren H.
2. Lara F-S.
3. Laurel
4. Garrett
5. Sasha
6. Adam I.
7. Amy K.
8. Gina
9. Brianna
10. Ryan P.

This was an incredible category of folks. I watched all 10 of these individuals put in time and work to improving every aspect of their lifts. Lauren H. came out as most improved, adding a whopping 60# to her total and improving her wilks score by 34.3 points. She truly pushed her limits. I watched her hit a 105# overhead squat that was a crazy battle. I am so proud of her for how much time she has dedicated to becoming stronger and more proficient, and I know there are even more big lifts in her future.

I also want to point that the overall most increased total was Garrett, who actually added ONE HUNDRED F***ING POUNDS to his lifts throughout the challenge. That’s unreal.

The Spirit of the Challenge Award goes to Miles. When I asked the coaches who should win this award it was unanimous. Miles has demonstrated both patience and tenacity throughout the challenge. His confidence grew from week to week and he learned to take greater risks and see what he was truly capable of. As a result he added 60# to his overall total, and set the bar high for everyone else in his classes. Miles is an inspiration and a joy to be around. Congrats!

Big props to Sara R., Lauren H. and Miles for being so great. There are prizes at the gym with your name on them! The prizes are some self-care goodies, please have some treat-yo-self time and enjoy.
