This past week, we started a 12 week heavy deadlifting progression inspired by Benedikt Magnusson. I started deadlifting this summer in Powerlifting Club (Saturdays after my regularly scheduled 9am lady class) so I was really excited to learn we were going to be focusing on this lift. It’s one of my favorites.

My deadlift PR set back at the meet on September 13 was 231lbs (105 kilos) which until about 5 minutes ago, I thought was 241. Because, you guys….last night in our week 2 lifts, I did a 1×2 at 240 thinking I had already pulled that much. NOPE. NEW PR! (cue bells and whistles)

If you’re interested in following along with my progressions, you can check out the google doc I am training from here. We completed week 2 last night and I’m still right on track. If we fail a week, we will simply repeat it the next.
