Solcanauts!

I have a very exciting announcement to make. Not only is Kate O’Reilly our Mobili-Buddy of the Month, she is also going to start teaching mobility classes here at Solcana! Her first class is Thursday, March 2 at 12:40pm. She will be teaching Monday’s at 10:40am and Thursday’s at 12:40pm. Read on for her story and insights regarding mobility!

What first drew you to adding
obility into your routine?

Needing to extend my physical therapy visits into my regular weekly routine. At its core, a mobility practice is physical therapy.

What was your first mobility experience like?

Pretty awkward! I was a lot heavier than I am know, and about half as strong. It was rough.

What are the benefits you’ve noticed from incorporating mobility?

First, my posture is better than ever, which means less pain and better breathing. I am longer and leaner, and more rooted. I no longer have back pain. I no longer have hip pain. I no longer have shoulder pain. I’ve lost 80 lbs. And: I have abs! ABS!! To name a few.

Is that anything that gets you really jazzed about mobility?

Knowing it keeps my body tethered and is the bridge between my other activities. And I love seeing my mobility pals succeed and advance!

What one piece of advice or insight would you share with someone that may be reserved about mobility?

Go and be bad at it. You won’t be for long. Stretching and its effects—being strong and limber—prevent injury and will enhance your other activities. And your life!

Anything else you’d like to share?

I’m here to answer questions anytime! Use me as a resource — I have a stretch for anything and everything that ails you.
